Joseph F. Arboleda-Velasquez
Joe's journey in the medical field began in Colombia, where he trained as a physician, followed by advanced studies at Harvard Medical School, culminating in a Ph.D. in cell biology in 2009. Now, an Associate Professor at the Mass Eye and Ear and the Ophthalmology Department at Harvard Medical School he oversees an innovation lab focused on studying blinding and dementing conditions.
Beyond academia, Joe is a serial entrepreneur, having founded 3 BioTech companies prior to ScienceBank.
His commitment to scientific communication is profound, evidenced by his role as a peer reviewer and guest editor for numerous journals over more than a decade, alongside publishing over 46 peer reviewed papers. Additionally, Joe contributes to ScienceBank as a non-voting member of the Editorial Board.
