Priyanka Bhoj, PhD

Dr. Priyanka Bhoj is a biochemist and publishing professional with a strong track record in both scientific research and editorial leadership. She earned her Ph.D. in Biochemistry from RTM Nagpur University (India), where she studied the microbiological and molecular biology of parasitic nematodes, including drug screening and vaccine development. She later pursued research fellowships and editorial positions across India and the United States, and recently completed an Assistant Scientist role at Temple University, where her work focused on biological chemistry and neurovascular mechanisms, particularly in the context of alcohol-induced blood–brain barrier damage. Her scientific expertise spans molecular biology, immunology, pharmacology, microbiology, autoimmune diseases, and infectious diseases. She has published over 25 peer-reviewed articles and contributed to several research topics as Guest Editor and Editorial Advisor, including Frontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology, where she led high-impact collections on antimicrobial resistance and infectious disease research. Her editorial experience also includes roles at Springer Nature, JoVE, AJE, and Cactus Communications, where she led peer review processes, special issues, and author engagement initiatives. Dr. Bhoj has also contributed as a peer reviewer for more than 10 journals across microbiology, immunology, neurobiology, and molecular science. She is co-inventor of a patented quinoxaline compound targeting filarial parasites, and is currently completing a diploma in Clinical Trial Management at Temple University. Her recent research explored type I interferon–driven immune responses in systemic and neuropsychiatric lupus.
