This paper aims to describe the experience of the nursing team at the Neurosciences Group of Antioquia (GNA) in providing care to participants in the Alzheimer’s Prevention Initiative (API) clinical trial in Colombia, highlighting the professional role of healthcare providers from a nursing perspective. It reports on a research experience that examines the management and care provided by the GNA nursing team, framed within the principles of health promotion and disease prevention. Through this work, the team demonstrates how care becomes a professional act, grounded in the principles and standards of the nursing profession.
