ScienceBank (ISSN 3066-1536) is a peer-reviewed, open-access, multidisciplinary journal published by ScienceBank Publishing Society, the operating identity of Intelligent Science Group Inc. It publishes continuously, article by article, with no volumes or issues, and accepts manuscripts in English, Spanish and Indonesian.

Aims

ScienceBank aims to make rigorous peer review and open-access publishing available to researchers everywhere, whatever their institution, country or career stage. It publishes work that is methodologically sound and clearly reported, and it welcomes null, negative and contradictory results and replication studies alongside new findings.

Scope

ScienceBank publishes original research and scholarship through subject communities. Each community has its own editors and sets out its own aims and scope on its About page. The communities currently cover:

  • Clinical medicine: cardiology, endocrinology, clinical ophthalmology, translational ophthalmology and visual science, ocular oncology, neurodegenerative disorders of aging, plastic surgery, liquid biopsy and forensic science
  • Basic medicine: basic biomedical research, global neuroscience and brain health, pharmacology, toxicology and medicinal plants
  • Biological sciences: development and stem cells, NOTCH signaling and vascular biology
  • Medical engineering: biomedical engineering
  • Computer and information sciences: big data and personalized medicine
  • Physical sciences: nuclear science and technology
  • Psychology: neuropsychology
  • Science communication: news analysis, opinion and commentary on science, in the ScienceBank Community

Manuscripts that fit no single community can be submitted to ScienceBank Archive; the editorial office assigns each one to the community best placed to review it. The ScienceBank Data Sharing Community is a controlled-access service for requesting confidential research data and does not publish articles. The communities directory lists every community.

Article types

ScienceBank publishes original research articles, reviews, case reports and case series, protocols, clinical images, research experience reports, perspectives, commentaries, editorials and essays. The Author guidelines describe each type.

Peer review and publication

Every manuscript is screened by the editorial office, assessed by a handling editor and, if it goes forward, reviewed double-blind by at least two independent reviewers. Accepted articles are published open access under a CC BY 4.0 licence, authors keep their copyright, and every article receives a Crossref DOI. See the Editor and reviewer guidelines, Licences and copyright, Fees and payment and the Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement.
