Yaneth Miranda-Brand

Yaneth Miranda-Brand is a microbiologist and bioanalyst, and holds a PhD in Basic Biomedical Sciences from the University of Antioquia (Colombia). She is currently a researcher in the Neurosciences Research Group at the University of Antioquia. Her research career spans more than 15 years, with a focus on the bioactivity of natural derivatives and synthetic compounds with antiviral, cytotoxic, and neuroprotective potential. Her expertise encompasses cellular and molecular biology, as well as the mechanisms underlying viral infection pathogenesis. Her work also extends to translational research, where she has contributed to studies on extracellular vesicles derived from patients with CADASIL, aiming to advance the understanding of disease pathophysiology and to identify potential protective and therapeutic mechanisms.
