Dr. Daniel Morales is a nuclear physicist specializing in low-energy theoretical nuclear physics. He contributes to advancing nuclear science education and capacity building in Colombia through academic, teaching, and outreach activities. Dr. Morales earned his undergraduate degree in Physics from the University of Antioquia and completed both his Master’s and Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics at the University of São Paulo (USP), Brazil. His doctoral research, conducted under the supervision of Professor Luiz Carlos Chamón, focused on theoretical models of nuclear structure and low-energy nuclear reactions. He currently serves as an educator within the Medellín Secretary of Education and as an adjunct professor at the University of Antioquia, where he is actively involved in teaching physics and nuclear science. In addition, he coordinates the Nuclear Energy Diploma Program at the university, contributing to the development of specialized training programs aimed at strengthening national expertise in nuclear technologies. Dr. Morales is also a co-founder of the Colombian Nuclear Network, where he supports initiatives to promote the peaceful use of nuclear science and technology, foster public understanding, and build professional communities across academia, industry, and government. Through his work in education, research dissemination, and institutional development, Dr. Morales plays an important role in cultivating the next generation of nuclear scientists and professionals in Colombia and Latin America.
