How publishing works

  1. Submit in minutes

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about publishing, peer review, and membership on ScienceBank.

Have another question?

Contact us at help@sciencebank.com

How do I submit a manuscript?

Create an account and choose the community where your manuscript should be reviewed and published — or submit directly to ScienceBank and the editorial team will assign it to the right community. The guided submission steps take you from file upload to confirmation.

How is peer review run?

Each community sets its own peer-review mode — single-blind, double-blind, or open review — and runs rigorous, transparent peer review on the platform.

Who keeps the copyright to published articles?

Authors keep their copyright. Articles are published open access under a Creative Commons licence — each community sets its licensing default, and CC-BY is the most permissive option, compatible with all funder mandates.

What does Society membership include?

Society Members get reviewer pay-out priority, voting rights, and APC discounts. Membership funds APC subsidies and unlocks the researcher AI tools, and pricing is adjusted by region so membership is affordable wherever you work.

Are reviewers paid?

Yes — reviewer and editor compensation for peer review is paid through ScienceBank. Payouts run on a weekly batch, and you set up how you receive them in your settings.
