Dr. Patricia A. D’Amore

As Chair of the Editorial Board at ScienceBank, I am pleased to share that we are targeting January 2026 for the inclusion of all eligible publications in major academic indexing platforms, including PubMed, SCOPUS, Web of Science, and others. This milestone reflects our commitment to broad academic dissemination and increased global visibility for the important work published through our platform.

In support of our mission to expand opportunities for researchers—particularly those in underrepresented regions—we have waived all publication fees for submissions classified as Original Research. Dr. Patricia A. D’Amore, a distinguished angiogenesis researcher, has made significant strides in understanding the mechanisms and regulation of vascular growth. Earning her Ph.D. from Boston University in 1977, she later joined Johns Hopkins University and Boston Children’s Hospital, eventually becoming a professor in Ophthalmology and Pathology at Harvard Medical School.

D'Amore’s seminal work includes contributing to the discovery of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) as a crucial element in pathological blood vessel growth in eye diseases, which led to the development of anti-VEGF therapies for treating cancers and eye conditions like diabetic retinopathy and AMD. She also created a mouse model that is widely used for the investigation of proliferative retinopathies.

An author of over 170 peer-reviewed papers and recipient of numerous awards, including the António Champalimaud Vision Award, Dr. D’Amore focuses on microvasculature and AMD pathogenesis, exploring inflammation's role and the impact of vascular growth factors. Her contributions were recognized by her membership in the American Academy of Arts & Sciences fellowship.
